Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Prediction

The Warriors will be hoping for similar success after comfortably covering the 8-point spread against the Brooklyn Nets in their last matchup, 116-100. The combined points for the game (216) were under the projected point total of 223.5. Golden State’s turnover percentage was their biggest strength over Brooklyn. The Warriors had a rate of 9.8 (better than their season average of 13.3), while the Nets posted a mark of 13.5. Golden State was lifted by Kevin Durant, who was the game’s leading scorer with 28 points on 9-for-15 shooting.

In the Clippers’ previous outing, they barely escaped the Milwaukee Bucks, 128-126, despite being 4-point underdogs. The game’s combined points (254) were well over the O/U total of 233.5. Los Angeles made good use of their 27 trips to the free throw line, making 22 of them (81.5 percent). Milwaukee, meanwhile, was just 16-23 (69.6 percent). With 20 points and 11 rebounds, Los Angeles’ Tobias Harris had a solid outing.

The productive offense of Los Angeles (sixth in the NBA with an offensive efficiency of 110.6) will face off against the mid-tier defense of Golden State (16th in the league with a defensive efficiency of 106.6). The Clippers should have the advantage on that side of the ball.

Golden State holds records of 11-2 straight up (SU) and 8-5 against the spread (ATS). Just over half of the Warriors’ games have finished over the O/U total.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles is 7-5 SU and 7-5 ATS. Games involving the Clippers have no tendency in regards to the total, as there has been an even split between games finishing over and under.

Both teams have had a player take their game to the next level over their last five games. Klay Thompson (28.6 points) has been fantastic for the Warriors while Lou Williams (22.2 points and 4.2 assists) has contributed greatly to the Clippers.

After the Warriors won three out of four games against the Clippers last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the most recent game, Golden State won 134-127. Golden State made 14 of its 25 three pointers (56.0 percent). Los Angeles, meanwhile, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (21.6 vs. 9.7).
