NHL Picks: The two marquee games in the NHL on Sunday have the San Jose Sharks visiting the Chicago Blackhawks and the Vancouver Canucks at the Anaheim Ducks. All four teams are off to good starts this season and in the case of Chicago and Anaheim, they are two of the top contenders to win the Stanley Cup this season. Let’s look at both games and NHL picks.

San Jose Sharks at Chicago Blackhawks – The Sharks won five of their first nine games but this is not a good spot for them on Sunday as they are playing their third game in four nights and with no rest. They were home against Vancouver on Thursday, off on Friday and then in Dallas on Saturday. The Sharks have been averaging 3 goals per game and allowing 2.5 per contest. The Blackhawks are in a much better spot as they are playing at home and they are rested having not played on Saturday. They have also won six of the last ten in this series. The teams met three times last year and it was the San Jose Sharks winning two of the three although the teams split in Chicago. And that win by San Jose was a rare victory in Chicago as they had dropped their previous six in Chicago. Three of the past four in Chicago have gone under the NHL betting total.

NHL Picks

We’ll take the Blackhawks to win this game on Sunday.

Vancouver Canucks at Anaheim Ducks – The Canucks got off to a hot start winning 9 of their first 13 games but this is a bad spot for them on Sunday. It is a lot like the previous game as the Canucks are playing their third game in four nights and with no rest. This is also the finale of a four-game series. The only thing that does help them a little bit is that they don’t have to travel since they were in L.A. on Saturday. The Ducks were off on Saturday and this is the third game in a four-game homestand.

The Ducks have won eight of the last 10 in this series with six of the last ten going over. The Ducks have won the past six in this series with three of the last four going over. They have also won the past three in Anaheim with the last two going over the NHL betting total.

NHL Picks

We’ll back the Anaheim Ducks at home to win this game.
