Nike Debuts New Uniforms for College Football Playoff Teams

Celebrating the fact that all four teams in the new College Football Playoff have uniform agreements with Nike, the company unveiled four new home and away uniforms for all four teams Tuesday.

“For those who seek the ultimate prize of a championship diamond ring, all four Nike teams will wear Nike Mach Speed uniforms with unique design enhancements, including a fractal diamond-color Swoosh on the front of the uniform,” Nike said in a statement.

In addition to new uniforms, all the players will wear new Nike Pro Combat Hypercoll baselayer designs, new Nike Vapor Jet Knit Gloves and new Nike Vapor Untouchable cleats, just one more perk of being making the new Final Four.

For Oregon, a team used to maximizing Nike’s creative output, the home uniform goes a little old school with their “Fighting Ducks” green with yellow accents. The away uniform is said to have a white and “wolf” gray combination, with white helmets with silver wings.

Florida State’s design gets an update with a fractal diamond color Nike Swoosh on the front. Garnet accents highlight the new gloves and cleats.

The Crimson Tide will also remain true to history, with an updated classic look with crimson accents and fractal diamond Swoosh. The gloves and cleats will have a newly-designed elephant skin pattern.

Ohio State’s uniforms also get the diamond swoosh, with the Pro Combat underlayer displaying a representation of legendary coach Woody Hayes’ last chalk board sessions.

The College Football Playoffs begin on New Year’s Day when the No. 2 Oregon Ducks face off against No. 3-ranked Florida State in the Rose Bowl and Fourth-ranked Ohio State tries to take down No. 1 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
