Seattle Redhawks at Utah Valley Wolverines ATS Prediction

In the Redhawks’ last outing, they were topped by the Grand Canyon Antelopes, 71-57. Grand Canyon’s 29.4 offensive rebounding percentage was their biggest advantage over Seattle, who had a rate of 17.9. The Antelopes’ mark was below their season average of 30.1, while the Redhawks’ was below their season average of 29.5. Matej Kavas was the top scorer from either team with 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting.

The Wolverines lost a close one to the Bakersfield Roadrunners in their last game, 73-71. Bakersfield’s 11.8 turnover percentage was their largest strength over Utah Valley, who had a mark of 25.2. The Roadrunners’ mark was better than their season average of 16.9, while the Wolverines’ was above their season average of 16.7. Utah Valley’s Conner Toolson contributed 13 points in the game.

After splitting two games last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. The Wolverines won the most recent contest 73-47. The Wolverines had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (38.5 vs. 16.7) and had a much better free throw rate (0.333 vs. 0.157).

Looking at effective field goal percentage, this appears to be a matchup of two heavyweights. The sharp-shooting Utah Valley offense ranks 54th in the nation in that metric at 0.549, while the top-notch Seattle defense is ranked 38th in effective field goal percentage allowed (0.457). Ball protection should be an advantage for the Redhawks. They rank 48th at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 16.6 percent), while the Wolverines force the 30th-fewest turnovers in the NCAA (opponents’ turnover percentage of 16.3 percent).
