Stony Brook Seawolves at South Carolina Gamecocks ATS Prediction

The Seawolves come in on a high note after just getting past the George Washington Colonials in their last contest, 77-74. Stony Brook’s 12.8 turnover percentage was their largest strength over George Washington, who had a mark of 19.5. With 18 points on 6-for-17 shooting, Elijah Olaniyi was Stony Brook’s high scorer.

In the Gamecocks’ last game, they beat the USC Upstate Spartans, 65-52. The Gamecocks had a much better free throw rate (0.466 vs. 0.121) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (42.2 vs. 20.5). With 13 points and 11 rebounds, South Carolina’s Chris Silva played well.

It could be an error-filled game for the South Carolina offense. Dating back to last season, South Carolina ranks 275th in the NCAA in ball protection (turnover percentage of 20.0 percent), while the pesky defense of Stony Brook has forced the 37th-most turnovers in the NCAA (21.5 percent). Furthermore, the Seawolves’ 302nd-ranked offense (offensive efficiency of 99.7) will go head-to-head against the Gamecocks’ 39th-ranked defense (defensive efficiency of 98.5).
