Portland State Vikings vs. Stanford Cardinal ATS Prediction

The Vikings come in on a high note after topping the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders in their last contest, 91-75. The Vikings held the Crusaders to an offensive rebounding percentage of 22.7 (below their season average of 32.4) and an effective field goal percentage of 0.400 (below their season average of 0.542). Holland Woods played a key role for Portland State with 16 points and nine assists.

In the Cardinal’s last game, they were victorious over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, 67-54. The Cardinal knocked down 17 of their 24 free throws (70.8 percent) and held the Blue Raiders to an effective field goal percentage of 0.356 (below their season average of 0.497). With nine points and 10 rebounds, Stanford’s Daejon Davis played well.

The Vikings won the only game against the Cardinal last season, 87-78. Portland State had a much better turnover percentage (10.6 vs. 30.5). Stanford, on the other hand, had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.583 vs. 0.429).

It might be a mistake-prone game for the Stanford offense. Dating back to last season, Stanford ranks 327th in the country in ball protection (turnover percentage of 21.2 percent), while the disruptive defense of Portland State has forced the third-most turnovers in the country (23.9 percent).
