The Bonnies will be hoping for a similar outcome after defeating the Fordham Rams in their last contest, 71-64. St. Bonaventure made good use of their 27 trips to the charity stripe, converting on 22 of them (81.5 percent). Fordham, on the other hand, was just 3-6 (50.0 percent). In the Rams’ previous game, they were beaten by the George Mason Patriots, 84-67. Making free throws was one of George Mason’s largest advantages. They were 17-18 (94.4 percent), while the Rams were just 10-17 (58.8 percent). Rhode Island’s Cyril Langevine had a solid performance, leading the team in scoring with 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting.

After splitting two games last season, these teams will clash for the first time this year. The Bonnies won the most recent game 77-74. The Bonnies had a much better turnover percentage (13.1 vs. 21.0) and had a better free throw rate (0.317 vs. 0.273).

The offense of Rhode Island (266th in the nation with an offensive efficiency of 100.5) will square off against the top-notch defense of St. Bonaventure (100th in the nation with a defensive efficiency of 98.0). The Bonnies figure to have the advantage on that end of the court.
