Super Bowl 53 Bud Light Ad Props: Will Bud Knight or Dilly, Dilly be featured?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Super Bowl Sunday isn’t just the biggest day in sports. It’s also the biggest day in advertising. Companies pay a ridiculous amount of money for commercial spots during the Super Bowl, and they use their best and most creative commercials on Super Bowl Sunday.

Bud Light will be one of the many companies trying to take advantage of the Super Bowl Sunday spotlight. Over the last two years, the company has used its “Dilly, Dilly” campaign heavily, which is set in medieval times and features the Bud Knight.

There will be two Bud Light commercials on Super Bowl Sunday, and they will be 30 seconds each. There are two props available on the Bud Light commercials, and they both center around the “Dilly, Dilly” campaign. The first prop is whether the phrase “Dilly, Dilly” will be mentioned during any Bud Light commercial. “Yes” is -200, while “No” is +150, so oddsmakers are predicting that at least one of the commercials will feature the popular catchphrase.

The other prop is how many of the 30-second Bud Light commercials will feature the Bud Knight. The over/under is set at 1.5, and the juice is -115 for both. If you bet yes, you’re saying the Bud Knight will be in both Bud Light commercials. Otherwise, the “no” will win.

The “yes” on the ‘Dilly, Dilly” prop seems like a safe bet, but there’s a chance Bud Light unveils a new advertising strategy. The Super Bowl is best time to unveil new strategies since so many people are watching, so Bud Light might take a risk and deter from the “Dilly, Dilly” campaign for a new, fresh approach.
