The Matrix, Price and Pitchers Take to Social Media and More

The Matrix, a new MLB logo, a relief pitcher hitting a home run and another pitcher doing a back flip are some of the top things on social media today in the baseball world.

McHugh is in the Matrix

Houston Astros starting pitcher Collin McHugh somehow avoided this comebacker. Instead of a scary moment on the diamond, McHugh not only got out of the jam, but he got the 4-3 double play.

David Price has wild idea about Jackie Robinson Day

April 15 fell on a Monday this season, so many teams had the day off. If teams didn’t play on Monday, their next game they wore No. 42. Price had an idea that regardless of the day, in the future, MLB should plan to have everyone play on April 15.

Another new logo

MLB recently changed its logo (for the day) to an outline of Mike Trout. This made others around the MLB think, how many retweets would it take to make them the logo? How much for Mr. Met?

Pitchers are hitters, too

Like when position players take the mound, it’s always entertaining to see pitchers break out the bats and rake, unless of course you are the opposing pitcher or a fan of the opposing team. Even more impressive is that Aaron Wilkerson, who hit this home run for the Brewers on Wednesday, was pitching in relief of starter Corbin Burnes.

Nothing like a good backflip

Pitchers are tired of hitters and their bat flips whenever they hit a home run. This Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Minnesota Twins Double-A affiliate) pitcher has his answer for hitters.
