Golf Undigested Podcast – Episode 43

Golf Undigested

The Golf Undigested Podcast with Clark Burroughs, a former PGA Tour player and proud Ohio State Buckeye, dishes out his latest news and musings in the world of golf. For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!

Burroughs starts Podcast #43 by discussing Dustin Johnson’s win and rise to No. 1 player in the world. After some close calls, Johnson won for the first time in LA and 13th time in his career as he cruised to the win and by doing so, becomes the No. 1 ranked player in the world.

Last week on the European Tour, Brett Rumford went wire-to-wire in a most unusual way winning both the stroke play format and wild and wacky match play portion of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 in Perth, Australia.

The PGA Champions Tour was back in action in Florida for the Chubb Classic that saw Fred Couples secure the win with some great ball-striking the final round in tricky conditions to win by three strokes over Miguel Angel Jimenez. It was Couples 12th Champions Tour title.

Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. Our host churns out another 4 for 5 week in predictions and stands 24-8-4 on the year. Burroughs dishes on this week’s action on all the tours across the world. The European Tour is back in South Africa for the third time this year at the Joburg Open. LPGA and the ladies are off to Thailand for the Honda LPGA and the PGA Tour starts the Florida Swing at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens where Adam Scott defends. The PGA Champions Tour is off this week.

Burroughs Predictions for The HONDA CLASSIC

If I’m picking a winner this week, I have to go with a solid ball-striker who is in form and has played well before at this venue. Arguably the two best ball strikers on the planet are Sergio Garcia +1400 and Adam Scott +1000, and by the way, those two finished first and second a year ago. The Champion course at PGA National is tough and sometimes brutally tough if the wind starts blowing. Both players are in good form and both players will be in the mix Sunday afternoon in Florida. I like both Scott and Garcia this week in all formats.

DEEP SLEEPER: Camillo Villegas +10000 is a sneaky play this week in all formats. The Colombian lives close to the course, won this event in 2010 and is accustomed to playing on Bermuda. Load him up on your fantasy team and take a shot with him at 100-1.

TV Coverage: The HONDA CLASSIC – Golf Channel – Thursday-Friday, 2-6 p.m. ET. Saturday, 1-2:30 p.m. – Golf Channel, 3-6:00 p.m. – CBS. Sunday, 1-2:30 – Golf Channel, 3-6:30, CBS.

Our host wraps up Podcast #43 by discussing who and who not to put on your fantasy team this week.
