Gurley Wants to Play at Lower Weight, Harris Gets New Contract and More

Knee problems for star running back Todd Gurley slowed down the Los Angeles Rams offense late last season and possibly cost them a chance to win the Super Bowl. Gurley has been held out of all the team’s offseason work as he manages his knee. He also plans, according to head coach Sean McVay, to play at around 218 pounds this season instead of 225.

Chris Harris Jr. gets raise from Broncos

Star cornerback Chris Harris Jr. is still slated to be a free agent at the end of the 2019 season, but he’ll get to pocket more cash in the meantime. The Denver Broncos and Harris reached an agreement that raises his 2019 salary to $12.05 million. He was due to make $8.5 million, far below the market value of a corner with his skills.

Jay Gruden lobbying for brother Jon to be on Hard Knocks

Five NFL teams are in danger of being selected for the inglorious honor of being featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks. One of those teams, the Washington Redskins, would rather NFL Films select another team, the Oakland Raiders. Jay Gruden has openly campaigned for his brother Jon’s squad to get the call.
