Sometimes with professional sports, we get caught up in the news cycle and forget how fun they’re supposed to be. It was impossible not to remember that when Pirates’ outfielder Gregory Polanco returned from injury and took the field Monday night. It also was pretty fun when the Angels and Yankees went 14 innings in a game that featured a little bit of everything.
- Gregory Polanco hit the ground running in his return from injury — literally. He went 2-for-4 and had one gigantic smile, too.
- The Angels hosted the Yankees on Monday night in what seemed like a pretty ordinary game, but things almost immediately got weird.
- Then the game went deep into extra innings, and it just got weirder (the Yankees eventually won 4-3 in 14 innings).
- Ready for more fun? Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is about to hit the big leagues for the Toronto Blue Jays. Get used to seeing this guy’s face, because he’s a star in the making.

“That’s the biggest thing now, that I’m back and I’m able to play the sport that I love.”
Gregory Polanco is back from injury and ready to compete.
