The St. Louis Blues will be without two players as they aim to even their series with the Boston Bruins tonight. Vince Dunn and Robert Thomas have both been ruled out of Game 2 due to injuries, and their presence on the ice will be missed. In place of Thomas, the Blues are expected to play Robby Fabbri. Fabbri hasn’t played since Game 5 of the Blues’ second round series with Dallas.

Dunn has been out since Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, but the loss of Thomas is a more recent one. He was the recipient of a vicious hit from Torey Krug in the third period of Game 1, and he looked shaken up afterward. St. Louis head coach Craig Berube stated the hit is not the reason he will miss tonight’s game, but that seems dubious.

Boston has one of the most unique blue lines in the league. It’s a sort of mish-mash group with two of the tallest players in the league in Zdeno Chara and Brandon Carlo, but it works. They have helped put Tuukka Rask on a path to win the Conn Smythe, and they will look to continue their impressive play tonight.

Ottawa made the decision to re-sign goaltender Anders Nilsson today. The Senators traded for Nilsson back in January, and he posted a team-high .914 save percentage in 24 games. He is the third goalkeeper the team has signed this offseason.

It’s a busy week in the NHL. While most of the league’s attention is on the Stanley Cup Finals, 29 teams are focused on the Scouting Combine in Buffalo. This is the fifth straight year the combine has been held in Buffalo, and both parties seem keen on keeping the pre-draft event there.
