His numbers took a slight dip in 2018 and now we know why. Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford played through the end of last season with fractures in his back. Stafford suffered the injury in the team’s Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams where he was tackled 11 times. Earlier in the season he suffered a chest injury against the New York Jets in Week 1 and injured a finger against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. The Lions went 6-10 last year with Stafford completing 66.1 percent of his passes for 3,777 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Flowers will start for Redskins

After getting jettisoned from the New York Giants, Ereck Flowers will get a chance to once again start for an NFL team. The Washington Redskins plan to plug the former first round pick in at left guard in an effort to rekindle his career.
