Jalen Ramsey got into an altercation with his head coach Sunday. Now he doesn’t want to be coached by him anymore. The Pro Bowl cornerback has requested that the Jacksonville Jaguars trade him over what’s being called “tensions” between him and the team.

According to reports,.Ramsey doesn’t like how the Jaguars are using him on defense, specifically, he’s been playing zone when he’s made his mark (and become one of the best corners in the league) playing man-to-man.

Jacksonville is 0-2 after losing starting quarterback Nick Foles to a broken collarbone in Week 1. The prospects of sitting through another losing season on his rookie contract is likely helping Ramsey try to hit the eject button. It’s worked out so far for other discontented players, specifically Antonio Brown and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Ramsey still has two years left on his rookie deal, with the Jags already picking up the fifth-year option. He’s making $3.634 million this season and could fit under any team’s cap. His price goes up to $13.7 million next year, but any team willing to make this trade, will likely already have the ink drying on a long-term extension once Ramsey is safely in the facility.

Johnson benched in New York

If you were looking for New York Jets cornerback Trumaine Johnson Monday night in the team’s 23-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, you might have noticed he wasn’t on the field. There was no injury issues for the high-priced corner, but a performance problem. Johnson was benched for the game.

“That (Johnson’s benching) was just our decision,” head coach Adam Gase said. “We just decided not to play him.”

Johnson did get into the game with #:27 left in the fourth quarter and even then it was because Nate Hairston left the game with an injury.

Johnson is in the second year of a five-year, $72.5 million deal.
