Telvin Smith Will Sit out 2019, Watson Joins Pats and More

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith announced via his Instagram account that he will be stepping away from the game for a season while he “gets his world in order.” Smith is one of the most underrated linebackers in the game. Last year, Smith totaled 134 tackles, four for a loss, two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, two passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a sack.

Benjamin Watson to sign with Patriots

Tight end Benjamin Watson isn’t ready to hang up his spurs just yet. After meeting with the tight end-needy New England Patriots, Watson is reportedly ready to sign a free agent deal with the team. Watson spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, catching 35 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns. The 38-year-old was originally drafted by the Patriots back in 2004 in the first round.

Ansah will sign with Seahawks

The flirtation between the Seattle Seahawks and defensive end Ezekiel Ansah will soon be consummated. Ansah will reportedly sign a one-year deal with the Seahawks that could be worth as much as $12.75 million with incentives.
