Ravens News: Lamar Jackson Continues Domination Over Jets on Thursday Night Football

Right now, it’s Heisman Week at Get More Sports. Obviously, former winner Lamar Jackson wasn’t going to let us down with his Thursday Night Football performance.

It’s beginning to seem like a broken record, and Jackson broke another record in the 42-21 win over the Jets. Before we get to that, here’s him leaving the field in Baltimore to more ‘M-V-P’ chants. Unofficially, that award is his.

Remember, Jackson played on Thursday night with reports of an injury. However, it didn’t seem to effect his performance one iota.

First off, Jackson ran for 86 yards on just eight carries to break Michael Vick’s single-season record for a quarterback. Now Jackson has 1,108 yards rushing, breaking the mark Vick held at 1,039 for Atlanta in 2006.

Second, Jackson hit on 15 of 23 passes for 212 yards and threw five more touchdown passes. While not bad for a former wide receiver prospect (I kid), it ties the Ravens’ all-time franchise record of 33 held by Vinny Testaverde.

Equally important, the 12-2 Ravens won their division for the second straight year.  If they win next week in Cleveland, the Ravens will secure the number one seed throughout the AFC playoffs.

Suddenly, Earl Thomas’ proclamation that the Ravens will be in the Super Bowl doesn’t seem so wild.

Currently, it’s Lamar Jackson’s game and everyone else is just in mere existence. He’s become must-see television, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the game’s hottest name turned out excellent ratings even on a Thursday night.

Jackson has provided a season for the ages in 2019, one that will never be forgotten.
